Boy, that sure brings back memories! We had a 50 cupper in the hangar and if you were "lucky" enough to get some out of the last few cups in the pot it was almost chewable!

I dont do a lot of coffee - I have a basic WalMart drip maker that I bought mainly for when relatives came to visit a couple years ago, but I do use it now and then. I buy the Arabica bean pre-ground tins and maybe around the holidays buy a bag of a dark roast I like from a local roasting place.
I do like the fancy drinks from Starbucks and similar places, but I consider their products to be more of a dessert than basic coffee. I'll occassionally buy a normal coffee from there so I can get permission to use their WiFi, its not bad but certainly not a great deal better than the drip-brew grind from the grocery store.

Oh, man. I went out with a gal a couple of years ago that got some really excellent tea from her Irish grandmother. I'll have to ask her who made it.

I have a Braun grinder, vintage 1990 - the motor was replaced after two years. After that I clean the grinder much more much more frquently.
I'm the only coffee dricker in the house, but my wife buys the stuff. Usually it is whatever is on sale, but I prefer Peets, Seattle's Best or DonFrancisco. I choose the Panera hazelnut coffee at that particular place.
When in junior high, a friend and I used to neglect Sunday School and go with the church organist - he drove a Renault Floride - and drink coffee between the services. I, for a while, added cream and sugar. When my dad, a WWII Navy veteran, saw that he said, "A man drinks his coffee black." So as a thirteen year-old, I became a "man" drinking black coffee ever since.

Ok, my coffee story. It was the winter of 1973 and there were long gas lines due to rationing at the time. I got in line before 6am (station opened at 7). With very little gas I had the engine off. The temperature was in the 20’s and my passenger window was frosted over. As I sat there in line there was a knock, knock, knock on the passenger window. I lowered the window to see who was knocking and there was my dad handing me a steaming cup of hot coffee.
I will never forget that.

SWMBO and my children only drink tea- the thicker the better. Basically her choice is English breakfast. Currently she is drinking Yorkshire Gold but will also enjoy Tetley Bold or Egnlish breakfast. The problem for tea drinkers in the USA is that 85% of American tea is for iced tea - so you need to find PG Tips or some such brand. We have a friend who loves tea and complained that she couldn't get good tea in Florida, problem was also making tea in a cup with hot not boiling water. SWMBO makes a proper pot.

Harumph Harumph, Harumph.I forgot to mention that I drink my coffee black. I guess that I assumed that the BCF crew would all be manly men like meself. Then I saw that someone here drinks Starbucks and that illusion was shattered (they probably drive MGs too).
First of all, obviously the most manly men are comfortable in their choices and their own skin.

)and secondly yes, they drive MGs. (Because of course they aren't broken down on the road somewhere or stuck at home.)

I prefer the stronger dark teas also (generally have tea more so than coffee). I can get Twinnings at the local store fairly regularly, and their English Breakfast or Irish Breakfast teas are good. They Taylors of Harrogate is good also but harder to find here, and I had someone send me some PG tips once which I liked but havn't found since.
