Cobra top?

I guess I never thought about how a Cobra with the classic twin roll bars looks when the top is up.

Saw this replica at ~Circuits Maximus~ last weekend.

I'd keep the top down most of the time.

I agree - though are you sure those loops aren't just to hang the car in the garage?

most tracks require a hoop for all passengers. If you do any training or teaching with your car, you need it. Some like it on the street for the added safety.
You can order a Superformance with no hoops, one hoop, or twin hoops. I believe thay also offer a traditional type rollbar. I know Facroty 5 does.
I've worked on several kit-cobras, and that's the first time I've seen a top that puts the hoops outside when it's up. Kinda nasty.
But it looks like the driver may be rather tall, or had to heighten the hoops to meet regulations. thay look taller than most. That may have required the different top design.

Hello Nial,

A couple of yrs back I had a "Gorgeous" (In my opinion) Factory Five Racing Cobra.

They never (Then or Now / Orig or Repro) were designed with twin roll bars. I`ve never seen one with a Top "Up or Down"!

This is the first I`ve seen one & hope never to see another one with a top "Up or Down". Looks pretty darn ugly to me.
