This incredible commentary was heard a few moments ago, from my hotel TV. The anchor was talking about the floods in the midwest US.

"The water floods one area, then moves downstream and floods another area"

Gee, sounds more like "fox noise" or is it "faux news"

Sad but true: The Weather Channel Sunday girl-

"Speaking of flooding. The midwest is flooding, so to speak.
That is to say, the midwest can expect more flooding, speaking
of which."

Me and the Mrs 'bout fell out our chairs laughing, so to speak.

ahh, the captain obviousness of the news-waves.

Oh it gets better though...

SOCK PUPPET!!!

I didn't know you had to use drinking water to fight fires with!!! Don't they have pumpers out there to use standing water to fight fires with? Looks like they have plenty of standing water around for that use!! IMHO these reporters will say anything just to hear the sound of their own voices!!

total rubbish that!! Idiots!!

Of course fireman can pump water from almost any source.

Yeh, but she sure is a cutie...There goes my blood pressure.

We have a local (loco?) radio weatherman who often says things like,

"Today's high will be 76 degrees. Our current temperature is 82 degrees."

And they wonder why we don't trust their reporting.

For some reason that all reminds me of the NASCAR announcer who excitedly reported "He's changing all four tires except the left front!" :jester:

Well, In some areas the water available to the firefighters does ONLY come from the drinking water system... That is a true statement, and is certainly the case in the area in which I live and work.

Don't be so hard on them. Since we haven't started looting, most of the news networks are at a loss for words.

I haven't kept up with the news today, but so far the most heinous flood related crime we've had was someone impersonating a National Guardsman. This happened in Marion and apparently he was doing it for the ego boost ( he was ordering around other guardsmen) not for material gain.

Ah! Iowa!

Garry-

I'm not sure the source- but it's been reported you
folks are awash with pig and people poopoo, floating
fuel and a gazillion skeeters.

Sounds mighty grim.

Praying for ya'll.

On the island - we've been there.

If that's the case, I'm not so sure I'd even drink the water for a while.

There was one in the UK from a Snooker commentator back when color (colour) TV was just coming in that went, "For those watching in black and white, the pink ball is behind the green".

Look to n'awleens after THAT disaster... then to Texas.

There's a diff'rent mindset at work here.

Sounded like a rather toxic mix what with the excrement problems and agricultural chemical waste, heating oil, etc. I sure hope FEMA is shipping in bottled or potable water supplies or this could get real nasty!!
