Cluttered/Uncluttered Garage?

Clutter is NOT a function of not enough space or time... my garage is very cluttered, but that's entirely my fault, and I think that if I had a little more discipline it would be less cluttered and I'd make better use of the space I have; and waste less time looking for stuff that I didn't have time to put away properly....

This thread caused me to take a look at my clutter and that, in turn, lead to picking up and organizing the space. I'm surprised at how much floor space I now have and have cancelled the plans to expand the space.

I was thinking about adding a workshop at my new house at the beach and talked to a contractor about building a 24'x'24' shop, concrete floor, frame walls, vinyl siding, three windows, man door, o/h door. No elect, no insulation: just enough to keep the weather and buggers out. $50/ $60 A SQ. FT.!!!!!

Horry County requires so much including architect to design and sign off on plans, surveys with drawings, inspections, hurricane straps and tie downs, and approvals with attached costs for each.

If I build it myself without going through the process and get caught, there are fines and building must be torn down.

Guess I'll just have use the 2 car garage that is there. That will require a thinning of my 'stuff'.

Steve, My Ol' Fella imparted a well thought-out philosophy to me at an early age:

"Moderation is for Monks!"

I won't admit *publicly* how prophetic that advice has been. :jester:

Doc, mine is warse than yours, trust me! :wall:

I find it makes me more creative and flexible. Gotta use what you can find, not what you "need". :hammer:

It'll definatly make you a better fabricator.
