clutch slave question

Ok tonight I go back to my no clutch midget. I am going to rebleed the system using the bike tire setup. Now, when I lie under the car,andlook at the slave, whenthe clutch in not depressed, how far is the rod extended from slave, or is it fully pulled back into the slave.

Second question, when the clutch is depressed, how far out of the slave is the rod extended? or maybe the better question is how far should the clutch lever pivot from its resting point (no pedal applied)??

I want to make sure the travel is right, before I do anything harsh, if the rebleed does not fix the problem.

In the "relaxed" (no pressure on the pedal) position, the release arm and pressure plate springs should push the rod/piston into the slave. That distance is predetermined by the length of the rod and the fork. Once bled the travel would most likely be in the neighborhood of 3/4"~1"... not far but enough to disengage the driven plate. After bleeding it you should be able to see the same distance of travel at the slave with one push of the pedal as you do after four or five pumps. If the distance lengthens with each pump there's still air in the system.
