I need to rebuild the clutch slave cylinder on the Elva. Though the transmission is MGA the cylinder is not--it is 7/8" bore as opposed to the MGA 1".
Attached find a photo showing the cylinder and parts.
The cylinder is 7/8" bore and is stamped "38UN".
There are no numbers on the small lip seal that I can read.
The outer boot says (in a circular pattern around the hole for the rod) "Girling/OW15-456/AR61/363616" (The "1's" may be "I's" as there are no seriphs.)
Now please look at the following site in the Moss Sprite catalogue: https://www.mossmotors.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=36484
Referencing the illustration, part number 35 is a 7/8" cylinder (repair kit number 36 goes to it)and looks similar to mine except for the bleeder configuration, but the original equipment cylinder is described as a Lockheed part.
Do those numbers make any sense to anyone and are Lockheed and Girling kits generally interchangeable?
Any help will be appreciated.
