I'm working on my MK3 Sprite. The clutch arm appears to be quite a ways back and I'm suspicious about whether I ought to do a clutch job on this car while I'm doing everything else. Anyone have a picture of where the clutch TO bearing arm should be on a fresh clutch??

Kurt, It's been a wile since I've installed a stock gearbox in a car, but my recollection is the fork should be pretty much centered in the opening. I would inspect for wear on the release bearing through the opposite fork opening. Also are you sure the fork is not bent? I'm not sure that disc wear would put you that far off center. I would also check your freeplay adjustment since you have the adjustable pushrods at the MC.
 
Yeah, Gerard, I'll check the inspection hole to see if I can tell anything else but I'm thinking it should get a clutch. Car is fairly low miles and I don't believe the engine has ever been out.
