clutch push rod replacement question

The hole for the pin on the clutch master cylinder push rod is elongated a bit from use of the years. I wanted to replace it. I understand how to remove it, but by removing it will anything pop out of the master cylinder and/or allow air to get into the system during the the process of replacing the pushrod?
 
Off the top of me head - no problem, it is a friction fit
 
You'll be fine as long as you gently pull the rod out of the rubber dust cover, just in case it's stuck a bit. Don't push the pedal while the rod is off.

Yes, I rebuilt my MC twice before I realized it was too pitted and bought a new one. I just went and looked at my old one, and, it appears that you pry off the rubber cap, there is a circlip underneath, remove that, and the push rod should slide out. I also looked at my pushrod and while it too is oval, where the real wear was, was the clevis pin.

I did end up having a problem, the piston rod with the seal popped out when I removed the clutch push rod. Ended up then needing to bleed the clutch... needed the bleed the clutch anyways.
