TR2/3/3A Clutch Petal Adjustment

I have just finished the complete restoration of a 1954 TR-2 long Door. Is there a way to adjust the clutch so it does not have to go all the way to the floor for engagement?I can get it to shift, with a little crunch, if I push the petal all the way to the floor.

If adjusted properly, by the manual, there will be no crunch when shifting. It is normal to have to push it almost all the way to the floor, though. Another option is to move the rod to the upper hole in the clutch arm, which will reduce the pedal travel but also increase the pedal force required.

I’ve had good results tightening up the slave cylinder, assuming yours is like the TR4 models. I just lessen the slack in the rod, and often feel the textbook adjustment is a bit crude, allowing some variation. Also, of course, be sure there’s no air in the line.
