Clutch Master Removal.

There has to be an easier way.
My knuckles are raw.

The bottom of the two retaining bolts, is hidden from view and wrench by the actual cylinder, any practical experience in getting this bugger out?
Please?
 
Pull the starter, get the top one from there. Bottom one from the bottom of course.
 
Jack these guys are dealing with the "difficult" cars...not easy like a BE!!
 
Have you already removed the master? That's the only way I can get that little stinker off.
 
Worse.
I ended up twisting the clutch line, breaking it 1/2" from the flare. AARRRGGHHHHHHHH!!!!! :madder:
The clutch master is still there, laughing at me.
I'm just going to remove the whole bloody pedal box, and think about where I'm going to get tubing, with flared ends from.
Removing the pedal box isn't exactly a breeze either, I can't get a socket in the outboard bolts.
This is a setback, I could really do without.
This is what I get for leaving milk on the floorpan, obviously.
I kicked the car, and am going to mow the lawn instead.
 
i used a brake line from the parts store...
fittings included.
when i remember the store name later ill

all u need is a small cheap pipe bender.....
no worries...

I just bought 60" of steel 1/4" tube, with a flaring tool and a pipe bender from O'Reillys. $20.
AND a set of flarenut wrenches so this never happens again.
Man, I'm salty right now.
 
I've just spent the last two hours bending pipe like an artist, and if I may say so, did a fantastic job; only to realize that in the Rivergate kit, was a slave cylinder with a braided pipe that runs directly to the master, thus eliminating the need for the stock clutch pipe, and a $20 trip to the auto parts store.



I'll get me coat. :blush:
 
Now you have a backup. And practice using a pipe bender.

I've been known to make a few masterful gaskets only to find that the part shipped with one. (Water pump comes to mind)
