Clutch Fluid Mystery

After 4 weeks of non-use, I started up the car and could not shift gears. I popped the bonnet and found that the clutch fluid reservoir was empty. I refilled it and went on my way. The mystery is that there was no puddle under the car. What happened to the missing fluid?

Your master cyl. may be leaking and when it leaks, it goes inside the car and soaks the firewall carpet (the square front one) under the pedal box.
