hey guys you gave some great answers to the cltack "quiz" but nobody got the answer right....i was just funnin everyone with a "problem" i had once with an old car i had before.....my MG does it too but im not worried cause....."its just the accelerator cable slapping the hood when i give it gas"! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Maybe if you don't stomp the accelerator so hard it won't jump up and hit the hood...lol

Could still be a busted motor mount....
 
Seriously. Your engine could be moving too much and letting the cable move closer to the bonnet. If the car has never had the mounts replaced. I'd do it. They are cheap and it is a fairly simple job. Or... maybe your cable is too long.
 
nope....it lays kinda sideways cause the end doesnt fit down in the hole to hold it vertical...NOT a problem...
my mounts look quite good......my cable works...its a keeper..... ; )
 
OK, if the end of your cable isn't secured then I can see why it would flap up.

Be sure the inside of that cable is not rubbing metal. If it is then it will wear thin. And wait to break when you are far from home in the pouring rain and a dark cold night with high winds and wolves stalking about. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
 
ill just haveta mcgueyver one out of the tailight wires and pull it through the window till i make it home! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
