This morning, my wife and I drove up to the mall north of us, in two cars so she could go straight to work afterwards, to watch the granddaughter in Little Gym.
Leaving, main light, two left turn lanes (marked), I'm in the right, she's two cars back on the left.
Light and arrows turn green, I move the JAG out, into the turn, and a car in the left, just swings right over into my lane.....nailed the brakes (all 4 discs locked on damp pavement), laid on the horn. bounced off the curb, didn't know if I'd been hit on the left or not, with the curb bang......and off she goes, oblivious, in her Religious Garb, driving her Japanese minivan.
My wife chased her down until I got untangled from the curb, and caught up.
Had a little chat about rules of the road, by law turning into the near lane only, against the law to change lanes in an intersection, and did an inspection for LF damage.
She missed me, it was just the curb hit, and even my wife who watched it happen, has no idea how I kept from being hit.
All the while, horn blowing, she just kept coming.....
No more rant or I'll get thrown outta here.
Dave

Glad you're ok, Dave. People turning into the wrong lanes is one of my pet peves when it comes to driving.

ay, Yup.
Alderwood. Signal north of Sears, by the Men's Wearhouse.

More reason to drive a big ol' pimp Towncar like I do.

Dirt track flash-back: when they turn down in front ya, mash it to the floor.

...you'll loop 'em right into the infield.

Glad you missed her. Wire wheels? Run 'er up to speed and check it all out.
Anymore, I drive my Triumph like my motorcycle... like I'm invisible to others.

Nasty intersection there .
Red light cameras there, need full time vid cameras

Disc wheels. No vibration, no tyre damage.
Thought about driving the Ugly Truckling (1950 F-1) this morning. I would have engaged with it.

I frequently go through a similar intersection. So far the inside-lane offenders have had their eyes opened wide and the passengers/contents in their vehicles jostled when they realize I haven't drifted into the lane to MY right.
