Close to installing the dashboard for a BJ8

We should have all the parts together and ready for install this weekend. Anybody done this and wish they had ????? prior to installation? Everything looks pretty good. We have to screw the center console to the two wood dash pieces. Then we will install the gauges, switches, and glove box.

Soon it will look like a car!

Just did this. If I had it to do over again, I'd check the fit of the transmission tunnel, with carpet installed, the center console and the center section of the dash. All of these components must fit, and if there is not enough space, adjustments must be made. I mention this because you are probably dealing with new carpet, maybe some Dynamat or such under the carpet, etc., which will change the original amount of space available to install the console and center section of the dash.
 
Make sure the driver's side part is centered over the steering wheel column. A small thing, but makes the final installation look better.

Thanks for the advice. I notice with a trial fit today that the end supports are a little off the holes in the side of the car. I will do some adjustments.

Glad you said to do a trial fit. I found the bracket that I thought should hold the center console, was incorrect. I had to make a new one to get the correct level.

It sure is fun to work on basket cases.
