The clear coat finnish on the roof pillars of my 2000 Buick Century is flaking off, and just keeps spreading. What would be the best method for me to stop this, and make it look better without going to a shop?

Thanks

Paul

From what I understand, GM clearcoats are notorious for this, and there's nothing at all you can do except wave bye-bye to whatever value the thing still held, or go get it repainted properly.

Paul, take it to the dealer and see what he says. I know that GM has redone a lot of paint for free over the past few years due to quality problems such as you describe.
