My 60 3A is still not street ready and currently sitting in my shop awaiting parts, sigh.
I have a decent shop, heated and a good size but, quite dusty. My body is finished and I would like to get the dust off and get it covered. Any suggestions as to how to get that accomplished without undo trauma to the finish on the car.

Your thoughts and ideas, as always, greatly appreciated.

I've taken mine outside and used an air compressor to blow off the dust.... just low psi is all you need.
 
Don't use a dry rag. This will scratch the surface. Has to be wet. Air hose, than water hose, than wet rags, followed by a rinse.
 
After you bring the car outside for it's dusting, be sure to de-dust the garage also. :hammer:

Since the garage is heated, can you give it a quick wet wash outside? If you are going to cover it after, it will be nice and clean before you put the cover on.

I never cover my cars when they are dirty or dusty. I don't want the dust or dirt in the cover material, so I'll wait until I wash them first, then cover after.
 
Yep that was my intent Paul. In fact I was thinking of washing it while it was in the shop, perhaps it would make sense to put the wheels on it and roll it outside. I could blow it off and then hand wash it. Gonna have to be a bit warmer for that project. That would also allow me to do some serious cleaning in the shop. I really need to wash the shop floor. "She who is to be obeyed" is giving me some serious flack about what I am tracking into the house from the shop. Guess it's time.

I don't wash my Midget with a hose, only wet towels/rags. I take a very wet, soft rag/towel and lightly wipe off all the panels, trying to avoid water dripping into the body panels.

Sure, call me anal, but this car doesn't have much rustproofing on it and I don't want to appease the rust gods.

If the car has a good coat of wax on it, the wet towel method works like a charm and doesn't damage the paint.
