Cleaning K&N filters.

Yes, I know there is a kit, but that seems like giving in a bit. Anyone got any good advice on cleaning these filters?

You can swish them around in hot soapy water, gasoline, solvent, or what ever. I WOULD use the K&N filter oil however. Under no circumstances leave them un-oiled. I use soapy water & K&N oil.

hot soapy water, rinse, and K&N oil. However, I will admit I caved in and have their recharger filter care service kit.
