clean garage

Installing my interior, I couldn't find the bolt that holds the gear shift to the tranny. I knew on the taking apart that I had spicificately put it in a safe place. As the car has come together I had found almost all of the bugeyes parts(never did find the battery mat). Well, the garage does need cleaning and I had no better excuse. After cleaning, thinking more than a few bad words, cleaning some more, actually storing some of the extra things, I reviewed where I was sure I had put the bolt, and there it was. The interior is in and the bugeye is going for the start up Thursday.

You had your chance Ben, but oh no you thought a pay check was better, heh.

Alright, another back on the road. cleaning the garage is a good thing too -- I've got that to look forward to later this spring. Once the 74 tub is gone, I've got big plans for a full garage redo (new shelves, workbench, etc). Never the most fun to do, but sure is nice once its done.

Heh, my garage looks better every day in every way. All the piles of stuff are now in one place, oh wait, that's Miss Agatha.

You're lucky, Jack. I've got most of the 74 Midget in an exploded state, scattered around all the shelves and flat surfaces of my garage. I feel like a greasy parts store sometimes!

I like to keep my garage tidy, just for the time saved when looking for parts. I know my current garage is a state, but an annex should get all the garden stuff out of there shortly!
I used to work with a race team where we had no choice but to keep the place spotless: The boss gave the cleaning lady permission to throw out anything that was left on work surfaces at night. And I mean ANYTHING, from a spare washer to a complete gearbox!! If it wasn't put away it was thrown away! Still, kept the workshop tidy...

I would imagine you would have to keep them in better shape in the UK. From what I remember Your garages were a bit smaller than those here in the states. The big clean up is what I need to do now, maybe then I could find my grill surround and that nut for the steering wheel. Yep I think that should be next before puutting the bonnet on and the doors.

AHA! The grill surround is behind the bonnet!

My God, dont I wish it Trevor, You would not belive how much junk I have. On that one side I have many tires, a generator, assorted bottles of homebrew (both full and empty bottles), coolers, 55 gallon barrels, just all kinds of stuff. Its one of them disheartening things just to look at.

garage!? try basement ... the only thing in the garage is the tub ... i'm almost out of the "greasy" stage where most of the parts have been cleaned or replaced but i do have a space problem and right now is a good time to STOP all work and clean ... thanks for reminding me!

I just about have everything sorted out and stored away now. About 8 feet of clean workbench. Garage looking good, Tony comming day after tomorrow so I got to be spiffy, hehe.

No not really, I just like everything neat and tidy. Next major job is to paint the walls and epoxy the floor. This fall mabye. Now if the wife will just wash the cars, pine pollen everywhere at the present.

You get her to do that , please tell me the secret /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif My garage is my basement and its 28 feet by 48 feet and I have 1 ranger pickup, 1 midget and 2 motorcycles in there and there is barely room to walk /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

That my friend was a joke. She did not wash cars when she was 18 and I don't think she is going to start at 67.

She does wash and iron though.

Kim, I appreciate your situation. I've got the 74 Midget tub, Tunebug, wife's truck (Rodeo Sport) and my motorcycle all in our 2-car garage. You can get around, but it's tight!

Mine will not iron, but she does wash. I count my blessings. She will on a rare occasion wash her own car If I happen to be already doing mine, but lets face it, washing a festiva is not that much work /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

I been thinking how I will clean with a bum knee. Think I might get the wife to take the computer chair down there. You know the 5 wheeled kind, and I should be able to roll around and clean and organize some that way. I need to have a good old fashioned tire burning /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif They don't call this the smokey mountains for nothing /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif (only kidding)

Bugeye has gobs more room in the cockpit.
