Not sure if this is appropriate but here goes. I listed a used 3000 differential in the classifieds last week. To date there have only been 8 views, of which 6 were me looking to see if anyone had visited the site. It looks to me like members of the forum do not use that area very often or is there another explanation? I guess eBay may be a better option.

Hi Rob,
I think it was good that you posted here. It gets more exposure. The Healey axle is a pretty robust part though and most people are looking to do what you did. Which is replace the gearing.

Well, "technically speaking" the reason that there is a classified forum is so that these marque forums don't get clogged with ads. Occasionally someone posts an ad here - although actually it's quite unusual in the Austin-Healey Forum - or they post here to draw attention to their ad in the classified forum. As long as it isn't commercial and doesn't get out of hand vis-a-vis quantity of posts, it's no big deal.

All of that said, you'll get wider exposure on eBay.

I don't go to the classifieds here because the is just not much stuff being advertised.
I used to look periodically, but then we went for a while without them, and now I'll have to get in the habit again.

Supposedly, the new classifieds require less "Basil time". The biggest drawback with the old classifieds, were some of the ads were "ages old" so you really had to have a modicum of personal memory to avoid looking at the same defunct ads. People wouldn't delete them once the part(s) sold.

I have to agree with you Randy on the longevity part. Ads should have been deleted if sold or deleted if over 90 days IMHO.

However, I have sold, and bought items here without having to pay the exorbitant ebay fees. In fact I remember recently someone sold an AH here, which had to be better than listing on ebay or much less than at an auction.

Unfortunately, as was mentioned, some parts just aren't needed. I would not hesitate to list parts here rather on ebay.
Thanks to Basil and all the moderators for their efforts.

Hi Rob,

I for one am glad that you decided to post in the forum. I normally don't look at the classified section as there is not much there at any given time.
I have sent you a PM about buying your differential carrier assembly. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
I have a new 3.56 ring and pinion set that I will install into your carrier assembly then I can just swap the entire assembly into my car. Less down time !
After I am finished, I'll post my original carrier assembly in the forum classifieds.

Ed
