classic car rental?

Just for the heck of it ... as my health continues to decline I have to realize I'll never own and/or drive all the classic cars I have on my bucket list.

Cancer ain't cheap, and my two classics may soon be on the market. Man it hurts to write that.

So ... is there any organization in the USA or Canada which rents (daily or hourly) things like

- 1955 Chevy Bel Air
- 1955 Dodge Coronet
- 1962 Jaguar Mk II
- 1956 Rambler Custom Cross Country Four-Door Station Wagon (yeah laugh all you want, but I have my reasons ...)
- 1961 Mercedes-Benz 220S
- et alia?

I don't mind traveling to do it. Dreams die hard.

Tom

Those old rounded Ramblers are great. [I too have my reasons, in which the fold down seats figure highly.] As for the Mercedes, just pretend you don't own it. That's the only way I have kept my Healey all these years. Wishing you the best with that #!@%$$@! health trouble, chin up as they say.

Tom,
Peg and I have you in our prayers my friend, and we pray for your doctors and care-givers as well. We have such fond memories of coming to Sturbridge two years ago for Thanksgiving and meeting you and getting our personal tour.

This Thanksgiving we will be in Newberry SC to make the holiday meal for Peg's younger sister and her family as she is in her third consecutive fall on cancer treatment...

I can probably find you the Jaguar from the local British Car Club, and some of my friends from the museum may be able to track down a few more for you if you come to visit the Valley.

Hang in their Tom.

My mum told me that she was admonished not to go riding around with boys in those Ramblers. A proper young lady didn't go to the drive-in in a rambler with the fold down seats.

Tom,

Have you considered shopping around the locals to see if they'd trade for a day?

I have a few friends that we trade cars around so that we all get to have some fun driving them.

If I had anything on your list you'd be welcome to it.

Jody

Tom,

You owe me a visit out here - & I want to see you deliver!
I really hope things work out dor you - health wise,& car wise.

Tom, I'm sorry to hear about your bad health and wish you well in your recovery.

There's a link, above, for Sports Car Rentals down here near Charlottesville. It's a great place to rent a classic. John, the owner, also now has a big, lovely 1961 Cadillac convertible for rent.

The owner is a friend of mine and a good businessman. The rental fees are very reasonable, with road service included. FYI, he is thinking about selling the business, if anyone's interested.

If you come down this way, I sincerely hope you'll give me a yell.

I hope it works out for you, man. Take care.

Difficult to respond but... We've got some fine LBC's here in the East Mountains of New Mexico along with a couple of transplanted New Englanders. Hubby and I have as you know the Jag and the Healey and would not be opposed to letting you take either one or both for the day. Also have great hotel (free) arrangements in the garagemajal. We know you would love it. So, feel free to visit and stay a while. We could also make arrangements for at least a ride in some real fine vintage vehicles.

Adventures are good.
