I'm curious if there is a similar initiative aimed at electric cars to offset the massive amount of heavy metal effluents that are produced before they even roll off the assembly line.

Interesting concept - thanks for sharing! I agree, as the world electrifies, there will be pressure against running a combustion engine. (Whether we agree or not is best discussed elsewhere and at the ballot box!) But this concept helps "offset" this pressure (pun intended).

Unfortunately, tree carbon capture is only effective as long as the tree is alive - once it dies, the captured carbon is released.
