Do they still have the pony bottles of RR? Nice when you just want a short nip and not a regular bottle. <span style="text-decoration: underline">Freezingly</span> cold,(is that a word), sounds good. :jester: PJ
 
Horsemits called beer with ice forming in it: "A BEERpee!"

Not sure if pony bottles are readily available but relatives near Latrobe have said they see 'em occasionally. Mebbe the brewery does 'em up for commemorative occasions?

Last time I was at the "All American Rathskellar" they were still around. Rolling Rock is brewed in Newark now.

Used to find hundreds of them in the mens room troughs at the Skellar; we though it was fun to fill them up. That is until we realized where the bottle we held in our hands was last week.
 
Ahhh ponies. Always fun gettin a "bucket of rocks" at the local pub. Big tin pail with ice and ponies. I see them occasionally. Usually at bars, hardly ever in stores.
My latest favorite label to be able to buy off the shelf at the store is Magic Hat. Especially their "#9". good stuff.
 
Use to take rolling rock with us on hikes when I was younger.

I had a bottle (or should I say half a bottle) of #9 once. I like apricots, but to me, they shouldn't be put into beer. I guess that's why there are so many different types of beer...different strokes for different blokes. :cheers:

Edit: Visit the Magic Hat webstie. It's obvious that the guys over are ingesting more then just their beer! :laugh:
 
Wow, I have not thought about Rathskellars in years. Only place I can think of that you buy a case of rocks and sit at the bar abd drink it. Those "Troughs" in the mens room were "special", but I just can't bring myself to buy a "Newark" beer.

On Friday nights, we used to buy a case of rocks and stand on it, because there was nowhere else to put it. And everyone had an opener.
