I have used 4 different chrome shops over the years. Some were ok, some were a ripoff. All were expensive. In California, the environmental rules have closed down many of the shops. This time I took the parts to Nevada. Great job, time of processing was amazing (3 days) and the drive was not bad. Most of the shops I had used previously were an hour away. Sparks NV was 2 hours exactly.
What did I get done?
Windshield, door window posts and quarter panels, Front grill surround. Total cost $2705.
Higher cost than I expected but my last chrome job was $2300 two years ago so not so bad .
I did take one of the original bumpers with me. He quoted $1200 for the bumper, more for the bumperets . I told him that the repro bumpers were pretty good now and I will skip that job. I now have 4 original bumpers that are pretty good but need polish or chrome work.

I would get your originals rechromed .
Ask for the actually weight of a repro bumper and compare it to an original .
Repros are like coke cans in comparison .
As the saying goes you get what you pay for .
