Chrome wire wheels BN 7

Hi All,

It is my intention to purchase 4 new chrome wirewheels for a BN 7.

I was just wondering if someone has experience with the Dayton wirewheels or the Dunlops.

I noticed, that the Dunlops are the less expessive and that Dayton has tubeless as well with inner tyre what would owners suggest

Having bought both I would only buy Daytons from now on.
 
Hi Harry, as has been said there is a lot of information on this forum regarding the wire wheel. I would suggest that which ever one of the vendor products you choose also get the "inner tyre" type wheel and the associated rim bands. "inner tyre"less wheels can leave you with an irreparable problem if you have a puncture on the road. Stay away from Dunlap chrome wire wheels !!
Buy the Daytons with inner tubes as others have said.
You will not be sorry for spending a little extra money for
the Daytons up front. It is a lot better than having to buy
BOTH brands ( Dunlap first, then Dayton later on after the
spokes start snapping apart on the Dunlaps )!
Not following this advice will cost you at least an extra
$ 1700.00 (US) AFTER you thought you were finished spending
the big money.

Thanks for the input I have decided to buy Daytons with an innertube the onlything I am thinking about still is to take the 60 or 72 spokes

Well Harry, Fitment may be a restriction here. But 72 spoke wheels are the stronger of the two you are considering. OTOH, the 60 spoke wheels are quite adequate, IMOP look nicer and are easier to clean.--Fwiw--Keoke- /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cowboy.gif
 
Hi Harry,

I have 60 spoke Daytons and am quite happy with them. I don't feel any difference from 72 spoke rims that I replaced when driving over bumps and holes in the road. I definitely like the sparser look, but that is just personal preference.
