Choke Cable [very simple question]

Offline
Hi all,

Where is the best place to mount a choke cable in the interior of the car (76 MGB)? I just installed one, and it's currently hanging amongst all the wires on the steering column. Thanks for your help.

I'd mount it on the left of the steering wheel so only the driver can control it. But that's a kid with lots of siblings speaking.

My 74 Choke is high on the dash just righ of the steering wheel...which is original, but is a PIA to use...I find it ackward to operate the choke with my left hand and turn the key with my right, but that is how it works. I know that I should be able to lock it on, turn the key, and then release the choke, all with my right hand, but that is not usually how I do it.

If I had my choice of where to put it, it would certainly be on the left side to avoid my crossed arms starts.

Just my humble opinion.

i dont think my dash is the same as yours but i mounted mine where the rheostat came through the dash adn mounded it behind the dash bacause i never need it. and it looks very good there

Adam,

That's a great idea. My rheostat isn't working anyway right now, and it's way down on my list of things to fix. I think I'll try that next chance I get.
