TR4/4A Choke Cable TR4A

There was a post about where the choke cable passes through the firewall. With SUs, and with the cable dropping in the near carb from the top, I can't imagine that cable passes through the firewall at the footwell grommet. That's just way too low.

Mine is squeezed in through the same grommet that feeds the wires to the solenoid.

Is that correct? My reason for asking is that it's uncomfortably close to the positive battery terminal. I can imagine quite a scene if that cable somehow touches that post.

thx

Mine goes through the grommet above where the heater hoses go through the firewall.

I'm not sure about the 4A but on the 4 I think the choke cable passes through a grommet on the lower portion of the bulkhead near the solenoid. The picture shown is where the heater cable passes through the bulkhead.

Bob,

You are correct that's where the heater cable also passed through the bulkhead/firewall (not sure why it's out now but the car has been off the road for 20 years). Unfortunately, the dash and cables are pulled from my second TR4A so nothing to compare it to there.

Any other TR4A owners with SU's with pictures of their choke cable?
