Choke cable repair help

It looks like I'm not selling the BE after all, so I am chipping away at little projects. One is the choke cable. I've never had it hooked up due to the outer housing being broken off just at the firewall. I tried to slip some bicycle brake housing over the rest of it to hook it up, but when you push the choke cable back in, it just seperates the housing where they are butted up rather than pushing the choke back in.
So does anyone have a way to replacing the entire length of housing and a way to anchor it at the pull so it doesn't seperate when pushing back in?

That would be the easy fix. Didn't know that was out there, thanks
