Chinook rescues a Sea King

Neat - having been "Mr Lightning Rod" on several Chinook hookups, I know what theose guys on the ground were feeling!!
 
They did everything right!

I been hauled outta water with a "horse collar" and jungle with a "penetrator"... DON'T touch th' thing 'til it's been "grounded" is about th' only important rule I can remember. :jester:

ergo why we called the guy hooking howitzers to the underneath of a Chinook "Mr. Lightening Rod"...one misstep in grounding procedures & it'd pop you real good! I've seen guys knocked off the top of a howitzer!

Cool. I'll send it to my brother (at Sikorsky).

But I have to say one thing about those guys doing the hook up:
Once the cable took the load, I WOULD NOT have stood anywhere under that thing.
I would have hot-footed it back to where the camera guy was standing.
