I've never quite understood why they seem to equate memory tests like that with "being smart" (ie: Gibson said "...in case you think they used on smart chimp...").
 
Perhaps if our minds weren't cluttered up with so much more important stuff, we would do better on these inane tests. :hammer:

I think the test shows that the chimp understands that there is a sequence to the numbers. Even removing numbers in the middle, the chimp can keep the sequence straight. Here are some other interesting videos. When you start to add them all up, it gets pretty impressive. The first one shows the ability to solve problems. The second is a moral test.
