I am heading to chicago and have heard there is a new museum opening in september by car collector Larry Klairmont at 3111 N. Knox, Chicago (just east of Cicero & Belmont).
Do any of you from the Chicago area know about this.
Don't know the name or if it is really being built.
I have looked for info. on the web and have found none.
Any information about this would be greatly appreciated.

Google Larry Klairmomt, Auto collector. It will bring up an article in Old Car Weekly.
I think it will give you what you need.

I hate typing on my IPad from the screen. Toolazy to get my keyboard out.

good idea, did that ... thanks
Looking for a name or a web site...
BTW... go buy one of those plug in key boards for that Ipad......
Your closer to Chicago than me , but I was hoping for at least out of state.........

I've got one, keyboard that is but it's easier (not given to correctness, however)to just grab the IPad. I know, I know - lazy. Also haven't discovered how to cut/paste. I'm sure I'll happen upon the function sometime or just maybe read the manual - it's on my I-Books. Anyway - enjoy Chi Town.

BTW, David Long (long time Healey racer) got to drive Agatha. However being the overprotective caregiver it was necessary for me to ride shotgun (in the passenger seat.)

Roman;
Thanks....
You were spot on.
I also found the phone number from your information.
773 685-1904
I plan on being in Chicago in Oct.,
can't wait to see the place.... :winner1:

By the way,
have you been to the VOLO ANTIQUE AUTO MUSEUM in Volo, Ill.?
Thought about going there also.......
It is about a hour's train and taxi ride from Chicago.
It will take most of my day so I was wondering about the museum.

Sure, I have been to Volo many times. I hesitate to call it a Auto Museum. It really is more like a classic used car lot with an admission fee. Most of the cars there are for sale so you never really see the same thing twice. They do have a nice little military collection and display. You can get through the entire place in about 2 hours if you walk slowly and inspect all of the cars as if you were buying.

Another great collection is the Kruze Military Museum and its accompanying Classic Car Collection in Auburn, IN.

Better catch it soon...rumour has it that the collections will be broken up in order to pay back taxes and fines of the owner.
