Yesterday morning we went up to have a look around before the storm blew in and visibility was very poor. We could see it coming off in a distance, but had plenty of time to get back and put the AC back in the hanger. As we all know, the storm was a very bad one. Too hazy to get any airborne photos without sophisticated equipment, which we don't have. PJ

That's two different craft... Cessna on top, can't figger the seond.
 
It's a Citabria 7GCBC, both photos. Clipped wings, partial aerobatics. Here's a couple shots after giving it a bath.





Now, I'm looking at one of these. "Starduster". Who knows. If the B sells, there might be one of these in the hangar. Fully aerobatic. ?????:indecisiveness:

Have you been to the Beech Stagger Wing Museum? Great place to drool, and just down the road from me!

 
Mickey, The stagger wing has always been one of my favorite aircraft. Even back in the 60s, it always demanded a high price. There are still a few flying in private hands and they pop up for sale on occasion, but the price is usually around 200K. Not like a modern aircraft, they need constant maintenance. Expensive to buy, expensive to keep. Insurance is astronomical for one. But a beautiful classic! PJ

This one can be had for $375,000!!!

 
I've been to the museum twice; the ones on display there are absolutely gorgeous. Did get to see one do a low level flyover and land. Very nice!
 
I shoulda looked closer... missed the struts, thought I saw a left seat in the top photo. My bad. Had no idea Citabria made an enclosed cockpit version.

I got wrung out in an open-cockpit model back in my teens, had a grin on me gob for weeks. First back-seat ride in an F-4, the AC did his best to make me use a "lunch bag"... after he'd put the beast thru some rolls he asked why I didn't react. Told him of the Citabria rides. He next said: "You're no fun." Then he gave me the controls for a bit! WOOHOO!!

A ride in an F-4! Wow, how lucky! That's a chance I'd never refuse! Had a couple rides in a TV-2, Navy version of the T-33. Loved it, but compared to an F-4, it would be like comparing a model T Ford to a Ferrari. Awesome to say the least. PJ
 
Hey doc... I had an aerobatic encounter in a T34 at POK on Davis Island when I was a freshman at UT. I would have threw-up if I knew which way "up" was :topsy_turvy:

hehee. One of my earliest rides for Uncle in a jet aircraft was with Detroit ANG, they had A-37 "Tweety Bird" Cessnas, set up with tip-tanks. I really like those things for some reason. Great photo bird.
