I met him at a tire shop a few months ago. I believe the car is unrestored and has a few issues. The owner (the father) seemed to feel he was sitting on a gold mine and therefore priced it well above others in similar condition. no photos of the engine bay are probably for a reason. Even back then he told me he has had offers for $16K or so. I told him he should take the money and run. I guess he didn't.
This car has been for sale for several months now. The otiginal listing price was 21k. He may want to call Jay Leno and see if he is interested but I seriously doubt even Jay would give him 18K. I'm wondering where these "run of the crop MGB's" for 14 to 15K are too. He may be related to the guy in Anahiem that is trying to sell a 62 Sprite that needs pretty much everything for 4K. He may get lucky if he runs up and down PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) and find an "emotional" buyer but otherwise should take the 16.5 K and be happy, especially in this economy.
