I tend to agree! However, In my mind at least if Healeys where to be manufactured again, I think it would be best to produce them the same way Superformance builds cobras.... as a specialty car that can get around all the government restrictions. The goal would be to build Healeys to the original spec's as far as the chassis, body and interiors. The improvements would be a stiffer frame, all independent suspension, 4 wheel disk brakes, rack and pinion steering and a all aluminum high performance DOC motor specially built for the Healey... Basicly improving on the vintage design, but keeping it vintage! Doing things that should have been done in the first place! At least that would be my idea of a new Healey..... the body and interior would stay the exact same as original.I don't know if it's sacrilegious to say this, but I really hope there is never a "new" Healey. Perhaps BMW had the best shot at coming up with a six-cylinder successor when they came up with "Project Warwick" and they've done a great job with the MINI update, but anything coming out of a limited production manufacturer is likely to be in the $75k neighborhood and just not have the essence of "Healey". I just think this is a case of "You can't go home again."
