Cheating Death

My wife's birthday is on Valentine's Day. Imagine the doghouse I'd have to go live in if I forgot it.

She once forgot my birthday. She called me at work just chit-chatting and I asked her "Do you have anything else you want to say to me?" and she said "No". About 10 minutes later it hit her and she called back very upset, saying she was a bad wife, etc., It didn't offend me the slightest. I really thought it was amusing, to tell the truth.

To make things even easier on me she let me pick our wedding date, so I picked it one week before Trafalgar day. Never will forget either one that way.

I picked the day after my dog's birthday. I always forgot his but remembered ours. My grandmother would always call me and remind me of what I needed to remember when. She always had my back with that till her memory went. Just buried both of them back-to-back, now I don't want to remember anything .....yet I've learned some things I never wanted to know and never will be able to forget....

All I know is, for a tree that bares no harvest, the fruits of the knowledge sure leave a bitter taste.

" I really thought it was amusing, to tell the truth."

And that is the difference between men and women.

Billy, I know how you feel I buried my grandmother in October of 2012, my dog in December of 2012, and my dad in January of 2013. It's hard to remember sometimes, but I think even harder to try and forget.
