Cheaper Sway Bars

I've been researching sway bar alternatives and sources for my TR6. TRF carries the Addco brand for about $249 regular and $189 sale price per axle. There is an online source called performancecenter.com which carries the same Addco bars at only $140 per axle.

Yes Andy -- I read the first post and immediately checked the JCW site. I could only find Addco bars for Mazda RX7 & Nissan 240SX. Too bad as their prices on those (about $60) are reflective of how they used to price them for TRs.

Knowing the manufacturer's part no. is key, with that in hand you can get replacement parts just about anywhere at reasonable prices. We pay the niche vendors big premiums for that lack of knowledge.

I bought mine online from a place in NC for around $140 or less and it turned out to be the Addco company store front!

Duh! I just looked. I bought mine from www.swaybars.com in Linville NC, guess where Addco is located... Linville NC. I called up and haggled a bit on 2 bars. VERY nice people.

WOW!!! $135 for the TR3...

Thanks, I was just ready to order from TRF for $189.

You know, we used to make our own sway bars. It's not rocket science.

When I wanted a new one for my TR4, I was lazy and just bought one, probably paid too much. It was an Addco.

I hope the bars you guys are buying fit better than that one did. It didn't line up well with anything. I ended up re-bending it, rigging up new control-arm mounts and end links, and fabricating different frame brackets. It's still awaiting a trip to the powdercoater.

Probably should have just made my own again, in the end.
