Cheap RWA Midget on Ebay

I agree as well, lots of rust in a Florida car. Ben we just don't want you to be disapointed. The price for the running gear was a steal even if that's all you git.

Think 1275, rib box, discs, gages, and such at the short end. Lots of odds and ends as well.

Actually Ben, I'm thinking about selling mine without the drive train if I get my bugeye project started. But I have no idea if there would be a market for the car or if I should just part it out.

I'm probably going to give a 72-73 RWA tub away in a few weeks. It's not going to anything other than the tub, we're stripping it, it's some rust on the rear as far I know now, but I think the rest of it is solid, anyway it will be free when I get done with it. It's in Greenville, SC.

There you go Ben... fate!

Oh boy, can't wait. I just love stories. Might there be a pic or two as well?

Me too! Do share.

We like details and pictures. Glad you got it home.

I'll take a 72 tub if there is one for the giving. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/savewave.gif

Ok I finally got around to uploading a few pictures. These arent the best as I took most of them from inside of my shop and I couldnt get the whole thing in one shot.

Here she is on the trailer in Fl. just before heading home.

And here she is sitting in the shop waiting to be worked on.

I need to get it running tonight so that I can put in my lower building until I get some suspension back on the Bugeye. This ones going to need LOTS of work unless the tub that Hap has works out. The good news is that it looks very complete so it should just be a matter of swapping everything to a good tub.

Here are the rest of the pics: CLICK ME

I'm more impressed with the trailer. lol

Boy oh boy, again, that's some paint job.

Oh Zimmy you have no idea. But then again you may!

SO far it looks like this car will need:

Hood
both rear wings replaced (small patch will work)
both forward floor boards and front kick panels
Both forward rear whell well patch panels
May need at least one A panel patch
Both forward rockers patched

But hey! The doors look ok LOL. Im REALLY hoping that the tub that Hap has is in good shape. I'm really looking forward to getting the Midget on the road. Bad news is that my wife is even more excited as she's laid claim to the RWA. Now that I think about it at least I dont have to fight over the Bugeye!!

Hap if you're out there today just a heads up that I may be giving you a call today to see what you've found out.

How does it run/drive? Or... does it run/drive?

My wife is still not happy about me bringing home another car and wants to know how soon I'll be getting rid of the "other one". We have two daughters, and I was thinking how neat it would be to do a family outing with the two cars. She apparently doesn't share my vision.

Sounds like you have found the most important auto hobby essential... an understanding wife!

Well the car 'ran' two years ago and all I've done so far was drag it home 750 miles and place it in my shop. Tonight will be the first chance that I've really had to work on it.

I plan to pull the hood so that I can get to the engine a little easier. Man a front tilt bugeye sure is easier! I plan to pull the carbs. Drain the gas tank and put in a new battery. I'll know more at that point.

I really think that other than the body issues the car is in good shape. That Florida air has just gotten to it in a bad way.

Any advice for starting a car that's been sitting at least two years (probably more)?

Be sure that it turns freely by hand before hitting the starter. I'd shoot some oil into the cylinders before trying to turn it. Also might want to pull the valve cover and oil the valve train. Somewhere on the internet I've seen a pretty good list of things to do before starting a dormant LBC. Maybe someone will chime in here.
