cheap electric impact at HF

This morning I picked up a cheap electric 1/2" impact gun today for $35.00. I figured if it lasted a couple of times, I would bring it back. So far I have removed four tires from my Intrepid, disassembled four calipers (searching for two good ones).

I still like my cordless one, but this is not too bad if you are like me, and don't have access to compressed air.

My only caution is: Do NOT use it to tighten anything back ON. I've seen the results: stripped lug nuts/studs first come to mind. An electric motor knows no torque limit. Tighten all fasteners by hand. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

They're GREAT for UNdoing stuff, tho.

Mostly I just use them for disassembly. I most always tighten things back up by hand. I had learned the hard way about that a long time ago. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
