Charlie Runyon and TRF

John and Dave told me to hop in and steer TRS while they pushed the car back inside for night storage at the Summer Party a couple years ago. Performance was lacking, but it was still fun.

I didn't know that he owned these!

Had to delete the links as apparently the VTR site/blog doesn't allow linking directly to the pictures I found of 1 of the TRS's.

The info I found said that Charles owned 2 (but 3 Sabrina engines), someone in Arizona owned a 3rd and a 4th one was still in the UK. So Charles picked up a 3rd one?

Scott

I haven't heard of him picking up another. I must have confused the car number with the engine one.

They seem to work for me ?? (Cut & paste from your original post)

Rumor (or is it rumour?) has it that the next TRF restoration project is the "other" TRS. This one was bought by Charles many years ago more or less in pieces. I know it is currently in the barn but as to when they pull it out to work on it is anybodies guess. As it is, Charles' famous TR3A has been off the road with engine trouble for quite some time now.

Randall,

Looks like you had the same problem. (Invisible pictures!)

Oops, let me amend that. The pictures aren't displaying in Firefox (or at least my install) but do work in Internet Explorer.

Time to switch back it seems! I was giving Firefox a try as lots of people seem to like it....

I use exclusively Firefox at home, as I do like it better than IE. Not the browser itself so much, but the various plug-ins that are available. At work, they force us to use IE for most things.

Anyway, the photos show up for me, both browsers, both Win2K and XPpro. You might want to check that both Firefox and your plug-ins (if any) are up to date. You can also try disabling plugins, to see if perhaps one of them is interfering.

I don't recall the details now, but one of the ad-blockers was giving me trouble until I switched it to using a different database.

Perhaps it's more a firewall or settings issue? I saw the pictures last night at home, and I'm seeing them now at home. I couldn't see them at work today, because the firewall there doesn't allow Photobucket and many other file sharing sites. :frown: Oh, and I use Firefox about 99% of the time.

Last I heard from a friend who visited TRF, it's correct that Charles has three Sabrinas, one of which his former engine man Tom had started to rebuild. He has two of the four TRS works cars used in the 60/61 Le Mans campaigns.

The third TRS rumoured to be in Arizona is now with the Otto family in Germany, who also have the fourth TRS. Both those cars are running their original Sabrina engines.

Viv.
