Changing front bolt pattern?

Why would you want to do that? Different wheels? I don't think it would work as drilling additional holes will weaken the hub.
 
Would probably be easier to get hub adapters.

Well, HERE is an example of a 4-lug to 5-lug adapter. Not in the correct size for TR2-6 hubs. But at least its a lead on a company that makes them. Might be worth a call for a set to match the TR2-6 hub pattern.

That's Doctor Marty selling those. He has a machine shop that does all kinds of work like that for him. He gave me the impression when I last saw him that he was always looking for new projects. Give him a call.
 
Check out https://motorsport-tech.com/index2.htm they can build you anything you want. Very nice quality, I have a pair that I custom spec'd everything and they fit perfectly. The ones I had made are hub and wheel centric mounting and were tailor made to my request. Dr. Marty is a good option as well but can only do certain thicknesses and will not do a 4-5 bolt adapter.
 
Many years ago I worked in the Long Beach Harbor area and had access to many ship repair businesses. There are companies that can weld close, stress relieve, and drill the new bolt hole pattern. I would not have a problem driving on a professionally re-worked hub.

Hello Ed,

to me the idea of re-drilling the existing hub is a non starter. If you look at where the studs fit, there is a thicker section at that point. Drilling elsewhere will be weak.

Looking at the adapters they are 1" thick so you would, ideally, need to have the replacement wheels with 1" more inset than your existing wheels have to keep the geometry correct.

It seems a lot of effort to gain what??
