One down one to go. Just sent the big ol' pickup down the road.
That was the easiest sale through craigslist I've ever done. He came, test drove, handed me my asking price, took the paperwork and left with the truck.
Took about 20 minutes.
Now I'm gonna concentrate on finding the TR2 a new home. Sad, but for the best.

Well done, Ben. Price them right and out they go (ask me how I know...

). Good luck on the TR2 sale. Tough one to let go, but in the end it's probably worth passing on to someone else.

Ben,

It just happens that I have a '68 MKII Cortina for sale....

Sounds like a good move.

When I was your age, I had to do the same thing. And I don't regret it a bit.
First things first (and in my case, it was survival).
I have a few non-LBC toys I'm trying to move right now. I know that when that stuff is gone, it will allow me to focus on the stuff I care about.

There's NEVER a shortage of old, interesting cars to buy.
(as Doug has just proved  )

You guys are right. Thankfully my reasons to sell are not totally financial. It's more of my "things owning me".
the truck was due to a change in my life. I went from working 3 miles from home to 20 miles from home. It had pretty much become a permanent lawn ornament. I needed it to go away before it started having issues from sitting so long. Plus I was just not using it.
The poor TR is just a realization that I don't have the extra budget needed to ever finish that project. If another life change occurs then I may be able to try again. But right now it's taking up to much of my limited space I could be using for more productive things.
The replacement for the truck is hopefully coming home this weekend. I'm off to look at a Subaru wagon. I still need a "stuff hauler" just not a 10MPG one. the BMW is not a stuff hauler, and the Scion, while better, is still limited (Plus it's my wife's) I have camping gear, a bicycle, a canoe, and the like that need transporting once in a while.
What was that I said about my things owning me?! hehehe

I did something very similar a couple months ago for what sounds like somewhat reasons. Our stuff does own us, no question about it. I've got far fewer toys and hobbies now, and I've never been happier.

On which end, they buying or selling? Seems Doug proves it more on the former.

Hey,- I HAD 13 cars around here at one time -
the neighbors were NOT impressed.

Got the Subaru yesterday. It was my cousin's wife's car, then became a loaner at his shop when she got a new car. 97 Outback Limited. Despite some pretty good rust spots around the rear wheel wells it's in very good shape. recent brakes, good tires, timing belts and water pump just done. Everything works including the heated leather seats! I'm movin' up a bit. this is by far the nicest car I've had in a while.
I should be able to get a pic or 2 this afternoon. Not that it's much to look at.
Doug, you got me beat. I think my record is 5 (that I'm at now)it may have been at 6 at one point, but I can't remember.
Funny how neighbors can't appreciate the effort that goes into a collection like that.....
