I'd like to change my BJ8 to negative ground. I did a search of the Forum archives and found a thread with a link to a site (vtr.org?) with an explanation of the procedure but I can't access the site. Can anyone help me find the procedure?

Hi MH, Do not know what that site is.There should be tons of info on this forum regarding the polarity switch.Assuming you have an unmolested BJ8 I will list the tasks that must be done. Wires on coil must be reversed,Cenerator must be repolarised, Battery leads must be reversed or Batt turned around, Tachometer must be modified internally,Pickup loop on back of Tach must be reversed,Radio if positive Gnd only must be disconnected,Point protective device in the fuel pump must be reversed or replaced with non polarised component. The only trickey thing is the tach changes. If some one does not have a compsite DIY listing I can supply, off list, the tach internal changes in picture form and as a schematic with guiding notes.---Keoke

GregW, Thank-you. Great web site.
Keoke, Thank-you, the tach info would be very helpful. I've sent a private messege with my email address.

I'll say it again- Man I love this Forum! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

ZBLU, Very nice screw on signs which depict the type of Ground you have installed in your car can be obtained from the local Land Rover parts house.---Keoke- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif
