As an on-site architect, I frequently have to deal
with the General Contractor's dreaded:
"change order" requests.

One of my contractors, who knows I enjoy boating, sent
me this photo. Look closely at the rubber Zodiac name.

enjoy!! I got a good laugh.

Of course the client usually wants the "change order" for the same price as the "original contract" /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/sick.gif

that was humor, i loved it infact that picture now hangs on my office wall (thanks tinster) i go through the "change order" routine just about every day ever work with a "designer" hah-hah-hah all the way to the bank, love it, live for it, gimmi more! specialy when the project is already completed, kahching!!!!/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

And I loved it especially since that is mainly what I do (put names on the transoms of boats!). One of my favorites that I did was for a partnership of brokers who named their boat "Knot Guilty"...They were picked up in the islands on their maiden voyage by the SEC on fraud charges!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

It's true of course. My dad, a contractor was a past master of the art of priceing change orders to pay for our vacations.

vacations thats all? in some other place on this forum i mentioned that a couple of days ago picked up my wives infinity fx-35 and the season is still young, god bless some of those "designers" look when they give you a set of plans to build a 47 foot long entertainment system that you know is all wrong and wont listen to your advise then as your cleaning your last fingerprint off the final piece of hardware they - the (designer and the client) walk up to you and the "designer" in a tone of voice that is clearly aimed at trying to cast the blame on you says "its all wrong" its got to be redone, as shes trying to explain how the new one should be you realize its the way you had first tried to suggest, then when the "designer" finds out shes not going to make as much money as she expected cuz of the redo (and there making ridiculous money off these people) thell fight with you over you final payment and dont have the 50% deposit i require to begin the new project, ya know what they be gettin is just what they deserve i more times end up working directly with the client with few or no problems. ive also worked with "designers" that truly have their stuff wrapped tight, just that a couple i know are prone to delusional flights of fancy, no "designer" bashing here. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/savewave.gif

Well I did not want to brag but......

Long vacations in Florida, Cadilacs all around, sail boats, and more.

Mind this was in the '50s.
