Why do we drive on a parkway and park in a driveway? Hmmm? Answer me that one smart guys!

We can only answer this once we figure out why Frosted Flakes have frosting, but pitted prunes DON'T have pits...

Re: "Champing at the Bit" and other phrases

My favourite - and I'm not making this up - was the Natural and Organic Food Factory Outlet Store on the outskirts of Guelph.

Why do you put motor oil in a gasoline engine?

Re: "Champing at the Bit" and other phrases

OK, so, as much as I love oxymorons (as opposed to the ordinary kind

) I think we need to get back to the topic at hand which is why I propose we flush out the initial idea a little more.

Knew a guy who insisted he used an 8x10 floormat camera, sent his images to the Suppository in Arlington... and he was the NCOIC of the still photo department.

Pardon me, but I still drink my coffee in the morning from a demitasse cup with my pinky finger sticking out. Really, only because there is no place on the cup for that little bugger.

What bothers you allot? :jester:

Now you tell me !!! I had an english teacher beat into my head alot is spelled with two L's. I want my money back!!!

Seriously, I don't mind if y'all correct me. Actually, I'd prefer you would. I don't have a spell check on this and I figure better to have too many letters than not enough. Might just look like a typo.

My wife and I were just talking about the phrases "pre-prepared food" and anything of the "pre-cut" ilk (e.g., "pre-cut carrots"). If you think about it, pre-prepared food is simply food that hasn't been prepared yet. Anything that's "pre-cut" means that it has yet to be cut, rather than something that's been cut already.

These things bother me -- dare I say it -- alot. But I'm sure I'll be alright.

Pre-drill the board? Either you drill a hole you don't.

Pre-heat and oven? You either heat it or don't.

Re: "Champing at the Bit" and other phrases

Wiki founder Jimmy Wales pleads for money to keep the site free of charge.

???????

How can I give money for something and it still be free? :confuse:

No there's a great business tactic, "Give me money or I'll have to charge ya!"

I better hurry up and fork it over beffore I have to pay.

Re: "Champing at the Bit" and other phrases

If sugarless gum has no sugar and flourless cake has no flour, why do they want my money at Payless shoes??
