That was my first LBC, describes my purchase of that one perfectly. And the BGT I bought briefly. Given my history, the fact that I only have 2 I shouldn't have bought actually makes me feel pretty good.
Wrenching and restoring have always been a means to an end for me. Did it when young so I could afford to own and drive them, later did it to earn my keep. I don't particularly like the process, but always found "other peoples work" to be not up to standards expected for the cost. I've never bought a car without looking it over in person, from first MGB in '69 to the current crop. And knowing most of what needs doing before calling it mine. A friend has said: "Don't buy work." My caveat is a follow-up: "...unless you know what that work entails."
I had to sell some of mine because I needed the room. The 4 I have left have thousands of miles on them. My sales have not turned a profit though. Did not even pay for all the parts, and labor is free! One guy that I bought two cars from sold his to make money. He only fixed what you can see.
Another angle of angst is when someone brings their "perfect" shiny restored classic car for "service" and a few small fixes and you have to try to break it to them gently that it needs significant repairs that will likely cost 50-75% of the price they paid for the car.
Often they accuse you of trying to "rob" them ... but then later you'll see the car for sale again as they try to unload their problems on someone else.
