I had asked this a long time ago, but I think its been too long and the post went away. Does anyone know a good source where I could get a canvas top to replace my aging vinyl top on my Spitfire?

George

I bought mine from AA Best
No problem with the installation and it looks great!

The rules of this forum prevent me from expressing personal opinions about certain vendors. So I won't.

What I will say is that if somebody is even remotely considering doing business with any company named after an arctic tundra roaming quadruped they should seek out as many people as possible who have done business with them and solicit their opinions.

I know what you're talking about. Nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more...

Ditto.

Note: when their product did *finally* arrive after numerous phone calls, it was well-made and has served me well. I really like the idea of a canvas top...but I would never again buy one from a company named after an arctic tundra roaming quadruped.

I too have been looking for some time for a top for my TR7. I now have 2 TR7s and have ordered canvas tops for both of them from A.A.Best. They are due any day now, will let you know my initial impression. Finally decided on them because of price and their website. The other guys alluded to on this thread were nice but a little pricier and not as easy to contact.

When it comes time to replace my top (its only a couple years old), I'd like to consider a canvas top. One of the guys in my local club has a TR6 with a canvas top and it really makes a difference in the look of the car.

Help me out here....MOoS(S)e, The Red Fox, VickyBrit (close to tundra)....yoose guys have me in a conundrum.
Anyway, I have a Robbins Color Fast canvas top on my TR6 and really, really like the look it imparts to the car.

Got my 2 canvas tops yesterday. Had ordered from A.A. Best 7/12 shipped 7/19. Arrived from EZ On Auto Tops,Inc. of Iva, SC. They look Great. So good I am considering not installing them myself. Think I would try to order direct from these guys next time. Their # is (800) 345-2886 or PO Box 130 Iva,SC 29655. Again mine are for TR7s not Spits, but would bet they make them for the Spit too.

The Arctic tundra roaming quadraped to which they are refering is the same animal as a reindeer without the ability to fly. Hope this serves to clarify things for you.
