So I admit I paid too much for my car, but hey, it was the first LBC I’d ever driven. But at least I drove it home, and did a rolling restoration over the next twenty years, followed by a body-off, nut-and-bolt the last two.
But this tub on eBay “1959 Triumph TR3 1959 TRIUMPH TR3A. OLDE ENGLISH WHITE” is worth maybe a tenth of the $10k this dealer is asking, and that’s only for the OD gearbox. Oh, wait— it’s not even an OD gearbox, even though he points out the comm number ending in LO and what that means. sheesh!
I wrote the dealer and pointed this out…

Well I do agree. If it is sold, I’m sure we’ll be talking to the new owner!

Man, there isn't a single panel on that thing that isn't either rusted through or dented. I spent a year doing the bodywork on mine, and it was much better than that one.

Odd, that Kurt Tanner place usually comes up with arguably rational pricing. Maybe that's changing.

Since it does come with an engine and transmission, I'd go $2500 if I were in the market. What do you guys think?
