Just saw this car on Top Gear tonight. 5th fastest around their track (street legal cars) and a quicker time than the Bugatti Veyron. I pulled some stats off the Caterham site:

Engine: 2.0-litre Caterham Powertrain (CPT) Ford Duratec
Max Power (bhp/rpm) 263bhp @ 8500rpm
Max Torque (lbs ft/rpm) 177 lbsft @ 7200rpm
Weight 506kg (516kg sequential gearbox)
0-60mph 2.88 seconds
Power-to-weight 520bhp-per-tonne
Top Speed 150mph (aerodynamics of a brick)

Stunning 0 to 60 time, but not a long distance cruiser.

My heart skipped a beat when Hamster said "we'll see how fast they go around the track. My wife had to watch the Stig run the lap four times (he was so excited he hit the turn indicator). The Caterham looked stunning.

1:17.9...almost a half second faster than the Veyron. It ranked so fast that Hamster almost couldn't place it on the board due to his height. What's even more interesting is that the tires couldn't stay warm on that cold day, could you imagine the time on a warm day?

Great show tonight...
