Caterham 7 acquired!

Went with a friend of thirty years to look over a 7. Turned out to be a VERY clean/neat example. 1600 with a crossflow head. Whomever assembled this car did a great job. Just over 1K miles onna clock, underside was as neat an' clean as the top. Friend bought it. Now the fun begins... the BARK of the Webers!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Ahh Doc, a neighbor in our car club JUST finished his 7. It's a great car!

I'm dying for a ride in it. Heck with a ride, I want to drive that bad boy!!

A number of years ago I put together a T/C engine for another friend's 7, so he could go SCCA racing. After a practice at Sebring (fourth or fifth time the car had raced) it suddenly went down on power. Some supposed Ford guys looked at it but didn't find the cause (a vacuum take-off under rear carb had its blanking plug come off). He trailered it to me and it was fixed in minutes... I insisted he put it on its' feet, and I proceeded to "test" it in our subdivision, SWMBO as passenger. Two laps of the block in a Seven!! I kinda disturbed the tranquility of the neighborhood for a bit, but Herself had never had a ride in a Seven before and this was the opportunity. They're a blast to drive. Looks like a T/C in that blue one as well.

No animals were harmed in the testing process.

There is nothing like low-flying in a Se7en! And nothing like a Lotus TCBV with twin weber 45's for power. An audio delight from the growl of the intakes and the bark of the side pipe.
