BTW, just moved to Fedora 20, LXDE. So far excellent.
 
I'll be right behind you. Except I may stick with KDE. No more Mate for you? I need to figure out what folders I need to save since I'll be doing a fresh install. Not all programs follow a standard as to where they stash files.
 
BTW Mina, the cat I belong to, has done similar acts defending her territory. Here we are finding a shady spot in this unseasonably hot weather.

Mina is one smart cat!

Back in the day, my guardian cat George was very territorial. One day my neighbor's golden retriever broke one of George's rules.

George raced from under his shady tree, jumped on the dog's back, dog went bonkers and ran several blocks with George still attached.

Funny thing: dog was about two years old. George was nearly 20 years old (close to 90 in human terms).

My dachshund goes bonkers when he sees a cat, but he always forgets that cats have telescoping legs with very sharp claws. It never ends well for him when he tries tangling with a cat. Another one of my dachshunds tried to take on a 25 pound cat. The cat didn't strike my dog. He just arched his back, hissed and held his ground. The poor dachsie didn't know what to do next other than stand there are bark indignantly.

I once had a girlfriend whose cat was territorial. He didn't like us having "relations" and he displayed his displeasure by biting me on the arm while in the act. I guess it could have been worse! Girlfriend thought it was funny when it happened. I, however, failed to see the humor in it.
 
We've known a number of cats who've done similar deeds to fend off "intruders" or run into a situation to protect their own. Humans could learn much from observing cats.
 
There's a moral in there. Don't be messin' with that cat's boy.
 
I think the cat was just saving his dinner for later is all that was happening here ;P

I made the move to F20 starting Wednesday. Tried it with KDE and hated it. They don't seem to have the same launcher I was using with F17 so I put program icons on the desktop. I'd have some windows open and when I closed them to see the desktop, all the icons were gone. Same thing with the clock widget I put on the desktop. Turning the computer on was like flipping a coin. Sometimes they'd be there, sometimes not. Dumped it, deleted partitions, then installed F20 with the Mate spin. There were a couple hurdles like getting the Nvidia driver's to load, MP3 files to work. Think I have everything loaded up now.
