Cars to drive before you die

Ditto on Doc's list, above, it's as good as any for me.

The Gull Wing Mercedes would be mighty high on my list, too. Elegance, comfort, power, speed: all the attributes of a fine car.

I've always wanted to drive a Ford Model A, simply because both of my grandfathers owned at least one or two.

Really, tho', the LBCs I've owned come pretty close to my "fantasy" cars. The Triumph GT6, and maybe an MGBV8 are my favorites.

Too many to choose just one . . . :cryin:

What!? no VW Beetle? what kind of list is that??

m

10.Volkswagon Super Beetle (all my friends had them in High school)
9. Bugeye Sprite (I will own one!!)
8. 1969 Chevy Camaro (THE only muscle car)
7. Shelby Cobra (of course)
6. Datsun Fairlady 240Z (I love these!!!)
5. Elvis' Mom's Pink Cadillac (Suburban living room on wheels)
4. An 18 Wheeler (I just to to know what OWNING the road feels like!)
3. Ferrari Enzo (Wheeeeeeee!)
2. Porsche Boxster (Convertible of course!)
1. My 1980 MGB (which is still in pieces in my dining room)

That's an impressive list.
I guess I'd like to drive one of everything, because each has its own strengths.
Having said that, I drove an NSX at Toronto on the Indy car course one weekend in 1992. Then got to take it for about 300 miles out of the city on the Sunday following. I liked that pretty much.
I think the nicest car to drive for me was a 1970 Chevelle SS396.
This particular car was just as tight and connected as I've ever seen. Must have been built on Wednesday. Never drove another example of those cars that seemed so well co-ordinated.
Hey, the one that gets me where I want to go, with the least problems, still remains my favorite.

Dave :driving:

If we're talking reality ... here's my choice to drive - before I leave the premises:

Nice ol' tank, Tom. I may be gettin' me mits on a '53 300 (W186-II) as a resto project in near future. Jury's still out, it's a money issue... imagine that.

Heck, I'll be happy just to get to drive the Tunebug before I go to that great gig in the sky...

An Adenauer! Great chunk o' steel Doc. If I owned a few producing oil wells, I'd likely choose that one m'self.
